Description

Manifestos that changed the design of the world - programmatic texts by designers, artists, philosophers and thinkers, collected together for the first time and translated into Ukrainian.

From Vitruvius to Walter Gropius, from Le Corbusier to Stefan Sagmeister. 39 texts, each of which influenced the way our world looks today. Architecture, art, social order, the Internet and UX. Marx (yes, the same one), Marinetti, Malevych, Guy Debord, Hundertwasser, Guerrilla Girls, Dieter Rams. Dzyga Vertov. DADA.

The collection consists of five parts: BEFORE, FORWARD! NEXT, AFTER, NOW. They present the manifestos chronologically. These texts did not exist separately, but grew as reactions to each other. In order to better navigate the context of each manifesto, the compiler of the collection, Yevheniia Butsykina, created short prefaces. After reading them, you will be able to better understand and perceive texts written 100 or 10 years ago.

The world has changed and is changing - now some manifestos may seem "not like that", "harmful". However, the times in which they were created were also different. Therefore, the value of this collection is the opportunity to look at a slice of history, to analyze how the design of our world today was formed.

The texts are translated into Ukrainian for the first time and collected in one edition.

Design feature: a dust jacket that unfolds and becomes a poster with the names of all the manifestos. Bold statements, ready to decorate your interior.
