Noi and his father live in a house by the sea. Father is a hard-working fisherman, and Noi often feels lonely staying with his six cats. So when one day he finds a kitten washed up on the beach after a storm, Noah happily takes it home to care for. He tries to hide his new friend, but dad finds him quite quickly because hiding a whale in a bathtub is not so easy.
Noi is eventually convinced that the whale must return to the sea where it belongs. For Noi, although he can't leave it at home, the whale's arrival changes his life for the better - the perfect gift from one friend to another.
