Description

In Paris in 1868, a man committed suicide, leaving behind an autobiographical manuscript. This is “The Story of Alexina B.”, which was published in 1874 by forensic physician Ambroise Tardieu. In his opinion, it is about “memories and impressions of a person whose sex was mistakenly determined,” in short, about a “pseudohermaphrodite.” From under the passionate pen of this man emerges a story about the torments and worries of the girl, and the story ends with the bitter disappointment of the man. M. Foucault published this document and a historical reference to it in 1978.
