The book includes about 300 short essays about the world of ideas and images of Taras Shevchenko (1814–1861) – a poet, artist, musician, thinker. Shevchenko appears here as a person who extremely subtly and reverently feels nature, art, life in all its manifestations: from everyday life to metaphysics. The author considers Shevchenko in the broad context of Ukrainian and world culture. And, looking closely at the image of the poet, he tries to describe his own spiritual experience.
