A monster squad

"Monster Squad" is a feminist, anti-war and, as always, ironic out-of-cycle novel in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.

Women can do all the same things as men. Sometimes even better than them. Polly Perks disguises herself as a boy and joins the army to find her missing brother. She joins a squad of recruits, including a vampire, a troll and Igor, and they are led by the colorful, battle-hardened Sergeant Jackram. They say the army is a place where everyone will be made a man. They say there has always been war. They say you have to follow some silly rules... But a pair of socks and a bunch of desperate people can turn everything upside down, especially if the changes are in time and cannot be stopped.
