In the album, for the first time, a large collection of household icons of the Chernihiv region, a center of ancient Russian and later Cossack cultural traditions, was published. Household icons created in the 19th century belong to the original manifestations of Ukrainian folk art — they reflect artistic tastes and local folklore and icon painting traditions. The works come from the National Architectural and Historical Reserve "Ancient Chernihiv", the Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Hryhorii Galagan, Chernihiv regional historical museum named after V. V. Tarnovskyi, the National Center of Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum", the Historical and Cultural Complex "Radomysl Castle" and many private collections of Ukraine.
