"The Navigator" covers the history of Ukraine from the end of World War II in 1945 to the restoration of independence in 1991 and offers a comprehensive overview of the political, economic, and cultural developments of the postwar period. The authors place Ukrainian history in a broader European and global context: they explain the fate of Ukrainian lands against the backdrop of postwar border redrawing, emphasize the links between Ukrainian cultural resistance to totalitarianism and the European revolutions of 1968, and so on.

The psychological commentary included in the text describes the traumas and life scenarios inherited from the Soviet era and suggests ways to work with them.

The book is aimed at high school students, university students, and anyone who is beginning to learn about the history of Ukraine.

The project's researcher is Yaroslav Hrytsak.
