Two weeks after the beginning of the great war, the special agent Bigmax and the new recruit Dmytro are traveling south through the whole of Ukraine.
Their goal: to take 130 children out of the village of Antonivka, which was surrounded by the invaders, from the local and previously evacuated orphanages.
When they start their journey, they don't yet know where to look for support and help. Until the last minutes of this daring operation, the brothers are not sure whether they will be able to save the children and survive themselves.
Dmytro Tomchuk's novel is an exciting story by a participant about a real rescue operation that lasted only 13 minutes and was documented on video, about a long way to the destination, about strange events and strange people who happened to them along the way and helped them from afar, about a surreal world, in which we all found ourselves in the first weeks of the war. This work is about Ukraine as it was in March 2022, and our contemporaries with their simple and difficult stories, thanks to which Ukraine is and remains Ukraine.
