You can justify anything if you do it poetically enough.
Oliver Marks has just been released from prison after serving ten years for murdering one of his closest friends. A murder he may not have committed. He is met by Detective Colborne, who has sent Oliver to prison. He is retiring, but before that he wants to find out what really happened ten years ago.
While still studying Shakespeare at the academy, Oliver noticed: his talented classmates play the same roles as on stage, as in life - villain, hero, tyrant, temptress - and he himself usually remained a secondary character in someone else's production. But one day the teachers force the students to switch roles, and now the good-natured rivalry turns into ugly fights, and the plot of the theatrical plays comes to life.
In the end, tragedy strikes: one of the seven friends is found dead. And others face the most difficult acting task of their entire lives: to convince the police and themselves of their own innocence.
