In 1823, the American writer Clement Clarke Moore published the poem “The Christmas Visitor,” better known by its first line, “The Night Before Christmas.” It is thanks to him that we learned how Santa, or Saint Nicholas, delivers gifts, how many reindeer he has, and what their names are. This holiday classic has become the basis for many works about the Christmas wizard.
Inspired by the well-known plot, modern author Kes Gray composed his own story full of hilarious details about the magical preparations for the holiday. Before Christmas, Santa Claus has a huge list of things to do. But thanks to the elves, everything was done even earlier: the gifts are collected, the sleigh is sparkling, the reindeer are waking up and kneading their hooves… But what did Santa forget?
