A calling, a mission, or just a job? A family doctor has written a frank book-dialogue in which she humorously talks about her practice — from curious cases to the challenges doctors face every day.
A tiny salary and patients who need heartfelt conversations instead of medicine. Comical complaints and calls to the security for refusing to complete an appointment, write a sick leave to a healthy person, or prescribe antibiotics for a cold. As a student, Oleksandra never thought about working in outpatient medicine, but after being referred, she fell in love with this business from the very first days.
The author's goal is to help patients establish communication with their doctors and look behind the scenes of this profession. And most importantly, to notice living people behind professional challenges who, in extremely difficult conditions, are trying to do everything possible to help.
