The book “Obsessive-Compulsive Experiences: A Gestalt Therapy Perspective” is a unique collection of theoretical and practical developments of experienced Gestalt therapists in the field of overcoming OCD - Gianni Francesetti, Elizabeth Kerry-Reed, Carmen Vazquez Bandin and others.
The authors interpret this suffering comprehensively, based on Gestalt therapeutic theory and traditions of European phenomenological psychopathology. Obsessive-compulsive experiences are interpreted as a creative adaptation to difficult life circumstances, in particular in conditions of social isolation and fear. A deep and versatile theoretical understanding of the problem allows you to form a holistic understanding of the possibilities of Gestalt therapy in OCD therapy, to understand the main strategies and concepts of this approach.
In addition to the theoretical, the book also has a high practical value for psychotherapists thanks to the detailed examples, proven techniques and effective tools that can be used in working with clients. The collection will be a useful resource for both specialists working with OCD and for anyone interested in modern psychotherapeutic approaches and seeking a deeper understanding of their own emotions and needs.
