It all begins in Oxford on a summer day, when a young Argentine graduate student in mathematics finds the landlady of the house where he rents a room murdered. Together with his mentor, the famous logician Arthur Sedom, he, in parallel with the police, begins his own investigation to stop a serial killer who seems to be giving them a mathematical challenge. In search of the key to this puzzle, they will turn to the history of forensics, to the practices of ancient sects, to Wittgenstein's linguistic games and Gödel's theorems.
The seemingly criminal plot, which unfolds behind the scenes of Oxford university life, ends with an unexpected denouement.
