The publication collects interviews and articles by the outstanding scientist, orientalist, historian Omelyan Pritsak (1919–2006), published in the media since his return to Ukraine in the early 1990s. The views and reflections of the scientist on the problems of domestic and world science, the role of science and scientists in society, and the relations of Ukrainians with neighboring peoples, expressed 30 years ago in general information, popular science, scientific periodicals and on television, have not lost their relevance to this day. O. Pritsak's sincere stories about himself, his formation as a person and scientist, difficult life challenges, scientific achievements and plans, in particular in independent Ukraine, constitute valuable material for creating a scientific biography of the scientist. Autobiographical essays and photographs of O. Pritsak illuminate the extraordinary image of an intellectual and hard worker, with inexhaustible energy and boundless dedication to science of the second half of the 20th century.
The collection is addressed to scientists, teachers, students, and everyone who is interested in Ukrainian and world science.
