Abbas Beidoun (1945) is a well-known Lebanese poet and novelist. His works have been translated into several European languages. Beidoun published his first novel in 2002, when he was already a well-known and recognized Arab poet.
The novel takes place in a Lebanese village. His main character Hassan lives here in his uncle's family. It all begins when the murderer of Hassan's mother returns to the village - his father, who was hiding in a neighboring country for 18 years after committing the crime. There he becomes part of an Islamist group. Along with the ruthless killer, his brutality returns.
In "Autumn without guilt" everything happens on the border of love and hate, and the answer to violence can only be revenge, and crime begets another crime.
