Chestnut Island

Deep in the Dnieper, under an unfinished bridge, a church collapsed. It raised a terrible tsunami over Kyiv, which completely destroyed the city, but gave everyone a chance to start over. After his mother left and his father unexpectedly returned, Yarchik moved to live on Trukhaniv Island. Nina, when her chronic illnesses worsened again in the fall, sees strange visions in the capital's shop windows. Artem and Zoya meet a tiger in a supermarket, which is walking among toothpastes and razors. And then there's snow. Which unexpectedly fell in the middle of September.

This is a story about strangers united by a common catastrophe and a common memory. Or maybe it's just a story about one very strange September in the life of a city that later began to be called the island of chestnuts.
