Isle of the Dead. Harsh Light

The universe of the thirty-second century is large, densely populated and complex. It is difficult for a person born over a thousand years ago to adapt in it, but it is possible. This was proven by Francis Sandow, the only one among earthlings to have mastered a highly paid rare profession of an ancient race. But few people manage to become fabulously rich and successful without making dangerous enemies. Having received strange, disturbing news from the past (or even from the other world), Sandow leaves his comfort zone and must find out who has plotted evil against him. He has to, as before, consult with a wise mentor, meet with old friends and enemies, remember old loves (and more than one) and resolve moral dilemmas. And in the end, he finds himself on the ominous Isle of the Dead, where an almost ritual duel with a powerful, unexpected opponent is to take place. Revenge and death, friendship and love, technology and miracles — this is the story of a godly man who nevertheless remained human.
