"Islands Between Streams" is the story of artist and adventurer Thomas Hudson, a man who looks a lot like Ernest Hemingway himself. The three parts of the novel - "Bimini", "Cuba", "At Sea" - are like islands of memories in the ocean of time. Pictures of idyllic vacations between father and sons are replaced by episodes of the last years of the Second World War and a confrontation with the harsh reality of military operations. Autobiographical, full of restrained and at the same time powerful parental love, a frank novel about devotion, courage and inevitable losses that everyone has to experience sooner or later.
