“Song of the Sea” is a graphic adaptation of Tom Moore’s animated film, inspired by Irish folklore, Celtic mythology and the magic of ancient legends. It is a poetic story about memory and loss, family love and a deep connection between man and nature, as well as about painful life experiences that can turn into light if you dare to live them.
On a remote coast, in an old lighthouse, a caretaker lives with his children – Ben and Sirsha. They miss their mother, who disappeared many years ago, and do not even suspect that the fairy tales she once told are true. Soon the children learn that Sirsha is a selkie, a creature from the sea, able to turn into a seal and awaken ancient magic with her singing. Together they embark on a journey full of dangers and wonders to save the world of spirits and heal their own family.
