At the end of the 19th century, Baron Falz-Fein founded the Askania-Nova nature reserve in south Ukraine. Stormy times soon came: changes in power, rampant gangs in the steppes, and uncertainty. Just then, the little girl Stefa goes to Askania with her father, a biologist, and finds herself in a whirlwind of events.
