Description

Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC) - an ancient Greek scientist-encyclopedist, philosopher and founder of classical formal logic was born in the city of Stagira. He studied at Plato's Academy in Athens, and was also the tutor of Alexander III, the son of King Philip II of Macedonia, who was later called the Great. It was Aristotle's works that became the foundation of new knowledge of mankind in various fields of science. But none of his works in terms of influence and popularity can be compared to the treatises "Politics" and "Poetics", which were attempts to comprehend the accumulated experience, as well as summarize the theoretical research of ancient Greek philosophers. Waking up after a long sleep, medieval European science discovered the broad horizons of ancient Greek scientific thought and proclaimed Aristotle the first among the greatest scientists of antiquity.
