Emma's father is ill. After a stroke, he confuses all the words, and no one, except his daughter, understands him. Emma decides to give him a gift - a trip to Podillia to see a flower that blooms only once every fifty years.

The father-daughter journey is a mixture of sadness, laughter, grief, regret, guilt and love. The story itself is told by mice, moles, storks and grumbling beavers who will meet along the way.
