The poetic anthology "Between the Sirens" is evidence of the great war that was supposed to destroy us and nullify Ukrainian culture. But in spite of everything, we persevered, and our poetry sounds extremely powerful and sincere, with Jericho's trumpets it destroys the walls with which souls are fenced off, it reaches hearts. Open ones. Hurt ones. Sensitive ones. Pure ones. Hearts that learn to live on between the sirens.
As long as russia's war against Ukraine continues, this anthology cannot be considered complete - new war poems are written in the Armed Forces between deployments on combat missions, on the way with humanitarian missions, in Ukraine and outside of it. Having absorbed the voices of 59 modern Ukrainian poets, this collection shows what we become in the crucible of trials: strong, vulnerable, invincible.
"As a document, as a testimony, as a poetic chronicle of the great war, this collection must be diverse, contrasting, and a little uneven. Our time speaks with these poems."
Compiled by Ostap Slyvinsky
