Inspired by some of Steinbeck's texts, the author delves into the drama of loneliness, isolation and, above all, death. Its main character is a weak, unstable, and even more so, rather aggressive young man Jacob, who does not know how to grow up and lives as if walled in his isolation. After learning about his father's death, he immediately forgets it and does not even tell his sister Ruth, with whom he lives temporarily. Thus begins the long day and a half from his father's death to his burial, which changes his relationship with his sister Ruth and his friend Alba, forces them to live on the edge, to resist social conventions.

The audience welcomed the play. "Ashes" won the Barcelona Critics Award (2014) and the Serrad'Or Critics Award (2015); was nominated for the Butak Award for the best text (2014). The premiere of the film on the big screen took place in 2016, together with the original music of the Catalan band "The New Raemon".
