A tale of love and darkness

"A Tale of Love and Darkness" is a touching and frank autobiography in the form of a novel. In the center of the story is the author's childhood and youth in Jerusalem in the middle of the last century, from where he follows in the footsteps of his parents to Odessa and Rivne, recreating the history of several generations with their personal dramas, lost illusions and shattered dreams. These deeply individual trajectories of human destinies, lovingly captured by an observant and sensitive eye from the darkness of oblivion, are masterfully woven into the history of the formation of the Jewish state, against the background of which the personality of the writer is formed - a boy trying to find his mother, swallowed up in darkness.
