Freethinker and founder of “scientific egoism” Claude Adrien Helvétius (1715–1771) develops the idea of ​​the relationship between the science of man and the science of the state. Emphasizing the equal ability of individuals to intellectual development, the philosopher emphasizes the importance of overcoming ignorance as a guarantee of personal happiness and a strong state.
