Al is a young man who has chosen a rather unusual way to deal with the housing crisis. He is an intruder, a squatter, sneaking into the owners' houses when they are away, and... living there, not robbing, but even taking care of the housing. His life and work are built according to the rules, so he is happy to share them, telling stories of breaking into houses, meeting unusual people, a kind of adventurous survival. This goes on until a murder occurs in one of the houses. Now everything will change: from an "innocent intruder" he turns into almost the main suspect. So all that remains is to find the real killer before Al and his new team are caught by the police.
This fascinating book has it all: the intricacies and subtleties of the housing market, professional squatters, accidental espionage, dark police cells, crime, a love story, amazing surprises, written with incredible humor, right up to the very, completely unpredictable end.
