The stories from this collection are creepy and at the same time attractive due to their originality
• Reissue in an updated design
The writer was inspired to create "Birds" by an ordinary situation: the author watched a farmer working in a field. Seagulls were circling above the man and wailing plaintively. It was then that du Maurier had the idea for a story where hungry and dangerous birds began a deadly hunt for humans.
A mystical and mysterious atmosphere that chills the blood, where fiction, reality, the sophistication of words and images are inextricably combined - this is what du Maurier's stories breathe.
The collection included stories: "Birds", "Monte Verita", "Apple Tree", "Little Photographer", "Kiss Me Again, Stranger" and "Old Man".
