District D

"District "D" is a collection of stories united by a common time and space, from which a portrait of the author gradually emerges against the background of "other shores", where his childhood, youth, and youth passed. A self-critical portrait in which you can see features of peasantry and cosmopolitanism, pettiness and generosity, and much more. At the same time, it is a group portrait of several dozen more or less registered residents of the mentioned Cherkasy district with their more or less successful attempts to survive the unexpected transition from late Soviet to early independent Ukraine.
