Pavlo Arkhipovych Zagrebelny (1924–2009) — Ukrainian writer, screenwriter, Hero of Ukraine, laureate of the Shevchenko Prize. He worked in the Soviet military mission in Germany, deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine "Vitchyzna", editor-in-chief of "Literary Newspaper". He held the position of first secretary of the board of the Writers' Union of Ukraine, from which he was removed due to denunciations. He was the chairman of the Committee for State Prizes named after Taras Shevchenko. Buried at the Baykovo Cemetery in Kyiv. In the historical novel "Roksolana" the author tells about the life of Nastya Lisovska, the wife of the Turkish Sultan Suleiman I. Having ended up in the harem, the girl from the Carpathian Rohatyn soon became his beloved wife of the ruler of the Ottoman Empire. The writer managed to successfully penetrate the complex inner world of the heroine. While writing the work, he personally visited Turkey and Rohatyn, places associated with her life.
