"Savrola" is the only fiction novel among all the literary works of Winston Churchill. The plot of the work unfolds around the events in the capital of the fictional country of Lavrania, where the confrontation between the regime of the President of the Republic Antonio Molari, which is increasingly gravitating towards dictatorship, and the democratic opposition led by the talented speaker and public leader Savrola is intensifying.
The author touches on such issues as freedom of speech and expression, honor and dignity, which are so often rejected in order to achieve political goals, contrasts cold calculation and nobility, and reflects on the nature of man as a "social animal".
Despite its small size, this book raises many important issues: what are the real driving forces of the revolution - serving the public good or satisfying one's own ambition, where is the line between politics and private life, and will love not be wasted in the confusing whirlwind of history?
