Seven Years of Darkness

A night that lasts seven years. Seven years of revenge, remorse, fear, and the struggle for life.

One night, Choi Hyun-soo, a talented baseball player in the past and a loser now, gets behind the wheel drunk and hits a girl to death. And from that moment on, he gradually loses everything that was valuable to him. He keeps quiet about this crime, trying to save his already fragile world. And he hurts most of all for his son, the only joy in the gray everyday life of his miserable life, because his arrest will forever brand the child as the son of a murderer. The father of the girl he killed also loves his child. He loves with his fists. She is his property, his slave, a part of his world, in which everything works according to his rules and whims. He takes revenge on the murderer, but putting him behind bars is, in his opinion, a meager retribution. He invents a more sophisticated, complex and cruel way to take revenge, adhering to the ancient law of revenge: an eye for an eye, a son for a daughter.

"Seven Years of Darkness" is a story about how a single mistake turns life into a relentless race towards death, about inner demons that are sometimes more dangerous than real enemies. This is a novel about how deep despair can be and what a person is ready to do to save those they love.
