In the work of Honore de Balzac, the novel "Serafit" is considered the most mysterious, partly mystical, a kind of preface to the entire "Human Comedy", which includes more than a hundred texts. In it, the writer expressed his philosophical views on the world structure. Amidst the splendor and majesty of the Norwegian fjords, a strange and melancholy creature lives in an ancient castle, which can be seen as either a charming young man or a beautiful woman hiding a terrible secret. Minna, the daughter of the local pastor, and the stranger Wilfrid, who was detained in the village by winter and blizzards, are also in love with this creature. Each of them tries to get the reciprocity of Serafita. And in truth, her mission is to give happiness to these people, but not with her, but in the unity of their souls, married by the power of the Spirit. Balzac dedicated this story to Evelyn Hanska, his future wife, with whom he had a love affair with letters for more than 10 years. And it was she who became for him the light that led him into the world without leaving it for a moment.
