Alexandra Potter's romantic comedy is a witty and sincere continuation of Nell's story. A woman is engaged, lives with her lover and is gradually recovering after difficult years. But important questions do not disappear anywhere. Why is it easy to fall in love, but it is more difficult to maintain a relationship? What to do when friendship is tested for strength? And is it possible to start a new stage if the past constantly reminds of itself? However, next to Nell is her friend, a bright and sarcastic eighty-year-old widow, who by her example constantly reminds that age is not a reason to put an end to it.
This is a story about growing up in her forties. About the late desire to become a mother, doubts about the choice, the fragility of stability, the onset of perimenopause. Nell's life seems orderly, but it gradually becomes clear - there is no single point where everything finally gets better. There is only constant movement, mistakes and attempts to put yourself back together.
The style is light and conversational, with humor, self-irony and a lot of sincere confessions. The text reads easily, but touches on topics that are familiar to many women: friendship, love, changes in the body, fear of losing yourself. The book makes readers think that happiness is not in the ideal scenario, but in the ability to accept life as it is. The book was translated into Ukrainian for the first time.
