Zlata has sworn for seven years to come to Jan, the twin brother of her missing husband, on Christmas Eve. And to be with him until morning in his castle in the mountains. Jan is a brilliant organist, but his music is a disaster. When he plays, stones fall from the towers of churches, walls crack and lightning strikes the towers. Adam, an exile from Paradise, screams with this music. The events unfold in imaginary times, culturally close to the first half of the 20th century. The story is allegorical, woven from fairy-tale, biblical and mythological images and motifs.
