A modest hero

Mario Vargas Llosa (born in 1936) is a world-famous Peruvian-Spanish writer, playwright, essayist, philosopher, publicist, political and public figure, winner of the Nobel Prize in 2010. Folio publishing house published Vargas Llosa's novels "Antics of the Bad Maiden" and "The Dream of the Celt". "The Humble Hero" (2013) is a parallel story of two characters: the meticulous and touching Felicito Janake, a small businessman from Piura who becomes a victim of blackmail, and Ismael Carrera, a successful businessman, owner of an insurance company in Lima, who prepares an unexpected revenge on two to his idle sons who wished him dead. Both characters, each in their own way, are humble heroes who try to take responsibility for their destinies, as both Ismael and Felicito resist the current events.
