Description

Khvylovy liked to skate late at night, and then he went to write. Johansen, noisy and cheerful, had two large dogs and loved hunting. Podhogilny, quiet and modest, had a bicycle "Ukraine", on which he gave rides, but always reminded him to return it and not break it.

These are the memories of Volodymyr Kulish, the son of writer and playwright Mykola Kulish. On the pages of this book, you can look at the private life of one of the most talented generations of Ukrainian literature - residents of the Kharkiv "Slovo" building - in the early 1930s of the last century, at a time when the clouds of totalitarian terror were just beginning to thicken.

The book is illustrated with images provided by the Kharkiv Literary Museum.
