"Solaris" is the most famous novel by science fiction writer Stanisław Lem.
The novel is dedicated to finding contact with the thinking Ocean of the exoplanet Solaris. It raises philosophical and ethical problems of understanding the world, anthropocentrism, humanity and, in fact, responsibility for everything that a person does - both on Earth and beyond.
The action of the novel "Solaris" takes place in the distant future. The story is told from the first person - Dr. Chris Kelvin, who arrived on the planet to solve problems with the psychological state of the expedition members. The novel presents two storylines: Kelvin's stay at the Solaris research station and a documentary presentation of the history of the discovery and study of the planet in the form of Kelvin's acquaintance with the scientific library on board the station.
