Thich Nhat Hanh is a Buddhist monk and teacher, author of over 100 books, and one of the hundred most influential spiritual leaders of our time. Born in 1926 in Central Vietnam, he became a monk in 1949. He studied at Columbia University, Princeton, and the Sorbonne, and was nominated by Martin Luther King for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Vietnamese government forbade him from returning to his homeland, so he was granted political asylum in France.
