On Christmas Eve, a Fairy comes to the little brother and sister, Tiltil and Mitil, and sends them in search of the Blue Bird. She gives the children a magic diamond, with which they can see the souls of objects, elements, animals... Dog, Cat, Sugar, Bread, Fire, Water are transformed into humanoid creatures with their own habits and characters. In the company of them, Tiltil and Mitil look for the Blue Bird in the Land of Memories, the Palace of Night, the Kingdom of the Future...
