"Terry Pratchett: A Life with Notes" is a biography of the legendary writer, author of international bestsellers, the unsurpassed master of humorous fantasy.
At the time of his untimely death, Terry Pratchett was working on another story: his own. When Terry was six years old, his teacher declared that he would never achieve anything. At sixty-six, he became one of the most successful writers in Great Britain, receiving the Carnegie Medal and a knighthood for his contribution to literature.
The book, which Terry, unfortunately, was unable to complete, was written by Rob Wilkins, his former assistant, close friend and current administrator of Pratchett's literary estate. Drawing on his own memories, as well as those of the author's family, friends and colleagues, Rob recounts Terry's extraordinary life story - from his childhood to the phenomenal success of the Discworld series and his struggle with the challenges brought by the illness Terry called "The Obstacle".
This is a deeply moving literary portrait of Sir Terry Pratchett, a biography written with extraordinary warmth and unprecedented insight, full of funny and poignant episodes, family and creative legends that, as Terry and Rob laughed to themselves, "it's a shame to spoil with tests".
