Chicago 1980s. Paris 2010s. A life full of love and anxiety. Discoveries and losses, hopes and disappointments. And the faith in the future that nourished them.
When someone is gone and you are left with the sole keeper of the memory of that person, simply forgetting them is tantamount to murder, isn't it?
In 1985, Yale Tishman was supposed to make a real revolution in the art world by contributing to the donation of a unique collection of paintings from the 1920s to his gallery. However, the growth of his career coincides with the black harvest of the AIDS epidemic raging around. Acquaintances die one after another, and after the funeral of his friend Nico, the virus creeps closer and closer to Yale himself. In the end, only Nico's younger sister, Fiona, remains by his side.
Thirty years later, Fiona arrives in Paris in search of her missing daughter. After staying with an old friend, a famous photographer who once documented the AIDS crisis in Chicago, she finally comes to understand the full extent of the terrible disease that has poisoned her life. Two interconnected stories will take us through the tragedy of the eighties and into the chaos of the modern world, telling how Yale and Fiona tried to find light in the midst of darkness.
