In the world that managed to survive Ragnarok and rose up after the fall of the gods, something strange is happening. The era of peace no longer seems so peaceful to many: internecine wars are brewing among petty rulers, which the inhabitants of Vigrid, the Battlefield, are not at all delighted about. The heroes of the saga: the hunter Orca, who lives in seclusion with her husband and son in a house in the woods, Varg, a runaway slave seeking revenge for his sister, and Elvar, a young, ambitious warrior, overcome the difficulties of their cruel world, encounter enemies, sometimes common, find and lose friends, and ultimately understand that the struggle for dominance in Vigrid is not only among humans.
