"The Thin Brown Line" is the poetry of pain and fatigue, the poetry of sadness for the lost, the poetry of numbness, the poetry of a cry, the poetry of mockery of the absurdity of reality. A poetry-chronicle of a soldier who writes about his life and war, ironically mocking himself and his search for meaning.

The living and the dead, the valkyries and the spirits of war, the forgotten God and the weary Satan. Those who are waiting and those whom no one will wait for. Death that hides just under the bed. Wounded, coffee, turnstiles, mice in the trenches. Days that are similar to each other, like twins. "There is no fate. There was no conspiracy. Some people are just born. It's just that some people are gone."
