The Renaissance gave the world many talented people. Their names are forever inscribed in the "golden book" of this era. Among them is the outstanding English playwright, actor and poet William Shakespeare (1564–1616). His works have been translated into many languages of the world, they are often staged. The book includes the plays "Romeo and Juliet", "Hamlet" and "King Lear". "Romeo and Juliet" is a tragedy that has no equal in depth of penetration into the psychological nature of love. In "Hamlet", the author depicts the complex thoughts of a noble man about the nature of evil, about the royal court, about hypocrisy and treachery within the palace walls. The play "King Lear" is rightly considered one of the most tragic, in it family relations are closely connected with political issues. The "Folio" publishing house also published other works of V. Shakespeare: "Historical Chronicles", "Comedies and Tragicomedies".
