The book is based on publications in the KINO-KOLO magazine (1997–2008). It introduces the reader to prominent figures of Ukrainian and, consequently, world film culture. From directors Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Serhii Paradjanov, Yuriy Ilyenko, Leonid Osyka, Serhiy Bukovsky, Oleksandr Koval, screenwriter Bohdan Zholdak, cameramen Vilen Kalyuta, Mykola Topchii, Serhiy Mikhalchuk to actors Ivan Mykolaychuk, Boryslav Brondukov, Kostiantyn Stepankov, Margarita Krynitsina and others. These figures, some of whom have gone to a better and quieter world, hold the cinematographic sphere on their shoulders with their talent, passion, care and will, they hold our being. From their words, victories and doubts, from their hopes, we learn what was, what is, and what is expected, and what makes us better.
