The book is based on publications in the magazine KINO-KOLO (1997–2008). It introduces the reader to prominent figures of Ukrainian and, successively, world film culture. From directors Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Serhiy Paradzhanov, Yuriy Illenko, Leonid Osyka, Serhiy Bukovsky, Oleksandr Koval, screenwriter Bohdan Zholdak, cameramen Vilen Kalyuta, Mykola Topchiy, Serhiy Mykhalchuk to actors Ivan Mykolaychuk, Borislav Brondukov, Kostyantyn Stepankov, Margarita Krynitsyna and others. These figures, some of whom have passed away to a better and quieter world, hold the cinematic sphere on their shoulders with talent, passion, indifference and will, hold our existence. From their words, victories and doubts, from their hopes we learn what was, what is, and also what awaits us, and from what we become better.
