Description

1957. East Germany is under Soviet control. KGB agent Stashinsky comes to the department for instructions, but receives a weapon he has never seen before. Meanwhile, Munich journalist Stefan Popel, an emigrant from Lviv, picks up his eldest daughter from school. She is interested in recent history and asks her father about what happened in Ukraine during World War II, why he himself often signs himself with different surnames, and whether he has ever heard of Stepan Bandera, the regional leader of the OUN in the 1930s. When talking about Ukraine, Stefan Popel does not only clarify that he is the same Bandera, whom the KGB has long been hunting. Bandera does not listen to warnings, refuses the guards and relies on his own revolver. He dies on the stairs, turning to face the killer.
