For as long as he can remember, Flo has lived in a witch's castle in the High Mountains. The boy does not know who his parents are or how he ended up with the evil sorcerer Basil Durboom, but he must study diligently and please his mentor in order to one day become the Grand Master of Cold Magic himself. Durboom dreams of seizing power over the Enchanted Forest, where elves, fairies, and other creatures he hates live. To implement his insidious plan, he creates a giant poisonous Grol. Together with Flo, they must release a terrifying monster into the Magic Spring and poison all the enchanted forest dwellers. But along the way, Grol slips out of their hands, and the sorcerer's apprentice finds himself alone in the Enchanted Forest among creatures he has always considered enemies.
