The book was created as part of the project "Ethnographic Embroidery "Ukrainian Folk Ornament: embroideries, fabrics, pysanky" by O. P. Kosacheva, Kyiv, 1876", dedicated to the first thorough ethnographic work on Ukrainian ornamentation by Olha Petrivna Kosach (Olena Pchilka).
Contains photocopies of the original source, its translation into modern Ukrainian, embroidered canvases reproduced by modern Ukrainian craftsmen, samples of weaving and pysanky, as well as modern clothes and reconstructions of folk clothing, decorated exclusively with hand embroidery according to the diagrams from the album.
The reproduced samples were donated to the Museum of outstanding figures of Ukrainian culture by Lesya Ukrainka, Mykola Lysenko, Panas Saksaganskyi, and Mykhailo Starytskyi.
